There are places you visit that stay with you long after you have returned home.

For me, Portugal is one of those places.

I remember the beauty of the streets — the blue-and-white tiles covering old buildings, the faded facades, the patterned pavements, the little details you discover as you wander. There is something wonderfully effortless about Portuguese style. It feels historic but never too formal, beautiful but never perfect.

And it was that feeling that inspired my Mediterranean Collection.

I wanted to capture a little piece of those Portuguese streets and bring it home — not as something precious that should only be used for special occasions, but as something you can enjoy every day.

Because I believe a beautiful table shouldn't wait for a special occasion.

Blue and white will always feel like summer

There is something timeless about blue and white.

Perhaps it is because we instinctively associate the colours with the Mediterranean — blue skies, whitewashed buildings, the sea, ceramic tiles and long lunches that stretch into the afternoon.

But blue and white also works beautifully in the home because it is surprisingly easy to live with.

The blue gives the table character and pattern, while the white keeps everything feeling fresh and light.

My Mediterranean tablecloth takes that idea one step further. The design is inspired by my own photography and the architecture and patterns I fell in love with while travelling through Portugal.

It is almost like laying a little piece of that journey across your table.

Make breakfast feel like a holiday

One of my favourite ways to use a beautiful tablecloth is actually for breakfast.

Breakfast is often the meal we rush through.

Coffee in one hand. Phone in the other. Something grabbed from the kitchen before the day begins.

But imagine doing it differently.

Put on your favourite tablecloth. Open the windows. Pour yourself a glass of fresh orange juice. Add a few lemons or branches of greenery from the garden. Bring out the good plates.

It doesn't have to be complicated.

A beautiful table can change the feeling of an ordinary morning.

My tips for creating the perfect Mediterranean breakfast table

1. Let the tablecloth do the talking

With a patterned tablecloth, you don't need to over-style the table.

Let the blue-and-white pattern be your starting point and keep the rest simple.

I love using neutral plates and simple glassware because they allow the pattern to shine without competing with it.

2. Add something from nature

You don't always need an elaborate floral arrangement.

For a Mediterranean-inspired table, I love using branches, herbs, foliage or fresh citrus.

Lemons are particularly beautiful against blue and white.

Simply scatter a few lemons along the centre of the table or place leafy branches casually across it.

The result feels abundant without looking overly arranged.

Think abundant, not perfect

This is where my philosophy of Imperfect Grace comes in.

I don't believe a beautiful table needs to look perfect.

In fact, I think the opposite.

Let the lemons roll naturally across the table. Let the greenery move between the plates. Fold your napkins loosely rather than perfectly. Mix your favourite dishes and glasses.

A table should look as though people are about to sit down and enjoy it.

The goal isn't perfection. The goal is welcome.

Breakfast is better when it is shared

A Mediterranean breakfast doesn't have to mean one dish per person.

Put food in the middle of the table and let everyone help themselves.

Think:

• Warm, crusty bread
• Avocado and poached eggs
• Shakshuka
• Fresh fruit
• Greek yoghurt and honey
• Pastries
• Fresh lemons
• Good coffee
• Fresh orange juice

And perhaps a little something sweet.

There is something special about a table where everyone reaches towards the middle.

It slows the meal down.

It encourages conversation.

And suddenly breakfast becomes an occasion.

Don't underestimate the power of one beautiful detail

You don't need a cupboard full of matching tableware to create a beautiful table.

Sometimes it is simply about one beautiful detail.

A patterned napkin.

A bowl of lemons.

A linen tablecloth.

A little jug of flowers.

A beautiful glass.

Or a tablecloth that completely transforms the room.

I love the idea of investing in pieces that can be used again and again, styled differently each time.

The Mediterranean tablecloth can be dressed up for a long lunch with friends, or dressed down for Saturday morning breakfast.

That versatility is what makes it part of everyday living rather than something kept for special occasions.

And sometimes… less is more

When I designed this collection, I wanted it to feel more than just pretty.

A story of travelling.

Of noticing beautiful things.

Of photographing the details that caught my eye.

Of bringing those memories home and finding a way to make them part of everyday life.

Every time I look at the blue-and-white pattern, I am reminded of the streets of Portugal.

The tiles.

The architecture.

The Mediterranean light.

And those long, relaxed meals where nobody seems to be in a hurry.

You don't have to travel to the Mediterranean to create that feeling at home.

Sometimes you simply need a beautiful tablecloth, a few lemons, something delicious to eat and people you love around the table.

Open a bottle of wine.

Pour the orange juice.

Put the coffee on.

Light a candle.

Because ultimately, that is what Imperfect Grace is about.

It is about creating beauty in the everyday.

It is about setting the table not because everything is perfect, but because people are worth gathering for.

And sometimes, the simplest table can transport you somewhere else.

For me, this one takes me back to Portugal.

There might be crumbs.

There might be spills.

Someone's napkin might end up on the floor.

The dog might decide the tablecloth is the perfect place for a nap.

And that's okay.

Actually, that's the point.

A table is not a showroom.

It is where life happens.

Bring out the plates.

Invite people over.

Have another cup of coffee.

And don't worry if everything isn't perfect.
